Every jackline i have seen so far ( not many ) has been made of webbing. Is this fairly constant across the sailing community, or do people use other materials like rope for their jacklines? the webbing is more bulky, harder to tie, and ends up stretching out, so at the beginning of the voyage, it is nice and taught, but at the end, there is a several feet of slack.

The common sailboat comprises eight essential parts: hull, tiller, rudder, mainsail, mast, boom, jib and keel. The hull is the shell of the boat, which contains all the internal components.
